It is so fun to have the hard work paying off and the changes that are happening to my body. It's funny because I never took weight training very seriously and didn't think it would change me this much.
Weight training has also taught me to completly ignore the numbers on my scale, my weight has been all over the place in the last 3 weeks and it doesn't matter, my body is changing and I couldn't be more excited!
I can feel myself getting stronger, truth be told I started out with 3 lb weights (stop laughing I'm a weakling :-)). Grew to doing some moves with 5lb weights and last week I picked up the 15lb weights and rolled with it for a few moves. I push myself but also know my limits.
Yesterday was Yoga, there are moves I can't do but it's coming. Every day it gets better and better and I get stronger and it feels less overwhelming. Doing the best I can is all that I can ask for! One day I'll be able to do the crane :-)
I am taking the week off my fitness classes, as it stands I still have a bit of a sore left side, although I think the yoga session yesterday benefited me.
Listening to my body, ignoring the scale and growing stronger, I think I'm liking this person I'm becoming :-)

You are doing great Syl - and your strength is increasing in leaps & bounds!
Great job!
so true, weight training can drastically change a body without any movement on the scale! Your gonna be bikini ready in no time!
What a great job you are doing.
Keep up the awesome work!
You are doing sooo great! :) You are such an inspirtaion!
Syl - I didn't get to comment yesterday...but I can totally see a difference! And obviously from your measurements, there has been a change!! Keep up the hard work!!
I think that a week off of classes is a great move on your part.
You will likely benefit from it.
I am so excited for your new frame of mind.
Such a good lesson for me in this entry...ignore the scale...wish I could..as my clothing fits the same and I look the same, but but but, I want that scale to show me the number i want!!!!!!!
You are doing so well and your body is changing..we all can see it - I am good at the yoga poses as am a dancer and flexible..I'm trying to picture you hubby doing the yoga or is he skipping that part of the training.
Yay... keep it up.
Go Sly GO! I laugh when I do yoga and there is a pose that I can't do. I do as much of it as I can, and just say- SOMEDAY! lol :)
Knowing that you are transforming, not just hoping, guessing, dreaming, is the best feeling there is.
Congrats!
You are doing a fantastic job! Weight training has made a huge difference for me (the last week or so even!) and I am glad to see actual results on YOU because it gives me hope!
You look hot, Syl!! I think I am going to have to start weight training :)
Way to go, syl!! I know all about the effects of weight training. I haven't lost weight at all, but my body has changed A LOT.
It feels good to have muscles! And weight training helps a lot with running, too. There'll be no stopping you soon!
Syl - you always amaze me! It is very true that weight training changes your body and effects the scale differently. Good for you for recognizing that! Keep it up sexy lady!!
I love reading your blog girl. You are doing so awesome :)
great job!!!
We already like you ... glad to see you're catching up with the gang! HAHA
That's why I picked up weight training: it tones your body. And you probably know that muscles weight more than fat.
I'm really proud of you with your workout schedule! I can't do what you do. Have been working out 4 days in a row now and it's too much. Body is protesting now. So I'm going to try a schedule of 2 to 3 days exercise, 1 day rest.
Great job Syl, keep it going!
Yay for ignoring the scale. I know how huge this is for you. You're making all kinds of progress in so many directions. And 3 lbs is where a lot of people start. It's encouraging to know how fast a person can get stronger with regular training.!
you go girl! and I am seriously considering throwing my scale out of the window, who made those things anyhow?
