Yesterday was intense again. 90 minutes of P90X Yoga! This is not a relaxed, deep breathing kind of yoga class that I am use to. This probably was the hardest dvd so far. But I did it and it helped me alot. It stretched every sore muscle that I am currently carrying around.
As the day progressed I felt as though I would maybe "skip" my class tonight. I mean I had every valid reason to and then the following happened:
I went to the bathroom ALONE - this never happens because my 3 year old is attached to my hip and doesn't even let me do that on my own. It was a very nice 3 seconds! I came out of the bathroom and found my little "angel" and I use that term lightly COVERED FROM HEAD TO TOE IN MAPLE SYRUP - it was dripping everyone, all over the table, the hard wood floor, his hair was covered and it was dripping into his eyes which led to a full out TATRUM not by him by ME! I was soooooooo MAD!!!!
Then I thought about the peaceful torture of lunges, pushups, pull ups, crunches, running and I left for my class, there wasn't even a second thought on that one!
I also thought as I got into my car to go to my class how proud I was that I got in my car and went. If I am going to keep up this positive momentum that I so desperately need right now, there is going to be no "skipping".
I am very much looking forward to my rest day on Sunday! It's going to be very well deserved and very well needed.
Over the last week I have also recieved a few blog awards that I have not addressed yet, I am hoping to post about these on the weekend.
Oh and just to keep you on your toes, there will be a very special post on Monday, something a little different as it is my 1 year blogging anniversary. I can't even believe that I have been at this for a year and I haven't run out of things to say!! Happy weekend everyone!

I think I would've cried. They are too darn quick.
Good for you for going to class even though you didn't want to. You'll be so happy in the long run.
Can't wait to see what you have in store!
You are such a roll now that nothing will stop you!!
Wow. I think you earned the tantrum on that one. I'm proud of you for taking yourself to class with that added...energy. :)
Uh-oh...maple syrup! How very Canadian of him! Did he stay in the kitchen, at least?
If there's another upside (besides going to your class), does your house smell yummy now?
I think I would have cried with all that sticky stuff all over. Good for you for getting to your class.
Hope you have a great rest day on Sunday. It's supposed to snow this weekend so that will be a good time to just settle in for the day and spend it on YOU!
Man I wish you had your camera handy for that one! lol Good for you for getting out and working out- with the sticky situation and all! lol :)
I would have licked the maple syrup off of him....kidding!
Good job on working out the frustration in a good way :)
These are the moments that you should stop, take a deep breath and grab the camera or video camera. I would LOVE to have seen a picture of your little guy covered in ooey, gooey, sticky syrup. It's maddening but it's a memory of when your kids are little.
Tiff
Did you get a pic? :) Great job sticking to your plan.
HAHAHa! Next time don't get mad right away- take a picture so the rest of us can see! And then get mad :)
omg, i can't believe that!! sounds like a sticky mess!!
LOL...that sounds so familiar as my two year old has done things very, very similar!
I am super proud of you for going last night as well. GOOD FOR YOU.
I would have screamed and shouted as well...its so sticky and so hard to clean up!!!!!!
Looking forward to your Monday's post.
You do know now why he let go of your hip, don't you
I'm sorry: I know it's a mess but I had to giggle about it.
When I read about P90X you sound so enthousiastic even though it's hard and I'm doubting: should I .....
But I know I have to get back to my long runs as my first 10K is in April and right now I'm not ready for it. I'm afraid that doing the P90X will give me sore muscles which comes in the way of my running.
That said: I'm proud of you that you did go to your class! You're getting there, I'm sure!
Good job making it to your class amidst a syrup catastrophe! Oh my goodness - that must have been awful to clean up!!
Oh you poor thing what a nightmare! I have a three year old "angel" too who likes to draw on walls and at the moment is still finding the potty a challenge! Well done for getting to your class and congrats on the one year blogging!
I love that you didn't give up and not go to your class! You're an inspiration for sure!
Now I remember why I wanted to go to the gym 5 nights a week when my kids were little. Parenting is not for the weak!
The old maple-syrup trick! I might need to break that one out this weekend...
One year blogging! That's incredible, Syl.
oooh.. I am taking a deep breath for you on that one. Tricky little "angels" lol.
Glad you followed through with your plan. Good for you!
No pictures???? Come on Syl!
So, did Peter get to clean up the mess? I'm thinking he deserves too - HAHAHA. ;)
You are going to be rock hard soon!!! WAHOO!
I'm sorry, but I was having a pretty rough day, and the image of the syrup covered child just made me laugh. So hooray for making me laugh, and hooray for a good excuse to workout. ;)
oh my gosh! Maple syrup! But, it's great how it got you to go work out!
Only people who have or have had toddlers can understand how "the peaceful torture of lunges" can be preferable to being at home for one more second.
Good for you for gettin the heck out of there and doing something for yourself!
Oh....sorry, but I grinned at the thought of a 3yo covered in maple syrup. Bummer! I would've thrown a fit also.
ditto, I find the best way to work out my frustration is at the gym these days.
If I don't I want to eat it.
Good job on getting there.
and mmmmm....maple syrup. lol.
Wait, explain to me your 3 year old's thinking. Why did he douse himself in syrup? Hahaha. I don't mean to laugh but that is hysterical. I would have run for the gym too
Oh my gosh... The maple syrup is funny but I've been in that situation and really it's not. Sometimes I just can't wait to go to the gym because I deserve that little bit of a break.
You've inspired me to start up
P90X again! Last time I did it I didn't like it a bit ! But a year has passed and I decided to make the commitment and do it [all 90 days] this time! Wish me luck.
