Hi Everyone,
thank you so much for your kind words and allowing me to have a few days to think things through and get back to doing what I love to do which is blog!
The last few days I have been reflecting alot on what is important. And I can tell you with no hesitation that what is not important is those last ten pounds.
I have come up with a new plan of attack, it goes something like this:
MAINTAIN WHERE I AM AND IF I LOSE MORE THEN THAT'S JUST A BONUS!
I have said before that I am happy with my weight but there are a few little trouble zones that I feel that I may still have. But I am willing to let it go.
If I can maintain my weight between 139 and 142 like I have for the last few months, then I will be happy.
I will continue to track my meals, workout and take one day at a time. What ever happens, happens and with that said I can move on!
These past few days have given me the time I needed to get a few things done. We put up our Christmas tree:
last year was my first Christmas without my Dad, I felt that I needed to do something that was just for me to remember him by. I place a red bird on my Christmas table, this year this little red bird went on the tree. I plan to do this little tradition every year, not sure what it will be this year, but it's my way of remembering, next year what ever I pick will go on my tree again.
and here the bird on the table last year:
this year there will be 24 people around our table in my house, CRAZY, INSANE, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Which leads me to tell you that the last few days have been spent making a crazy amount of to do lists. This way when I get something done, I can cross it off, and it keeps me from getting overwhelmed. I have also allowed family members to help with the preparation of this dinner. This is a big step for me, I am the kind of person who takes on more than I can handle, and tries to please everyone. I need to let it go a little, that being said this year I get help :-)
Tomorrow signals a new start for me. A few days off is exactly what I needed, but can't wait to get started again, I have the Santa Shuffle on Saturday to prepare for, so some running out doors in the snow is on the agenda!
I'll be back tomorrow to show you what I whipped up for dinner today, it was YUMMY ...this post is getting long, but I promise I'll be back tomorrow.
Oh and just so you all know, I've missed you terribly! Thank you for your kind, encouraging words as I get through yet another hurdle.

Welcome back, we missed you. I'm LOVING the positive frame of mind you're in. I'm so happy for you!
So glad to have you back! Glad you finally see you how we see you. You look wonderful! Good luck with that Christmas meal. We are having 16 at our house including my own famil and I think that's too many! (Maybe it's cause it's the inlaws?) Good luck starting over and have fun preparing for your race!
Your tree is beautiful ! I love the red bird ! What a lovely way to remember !
We put up our Christmas tree today too!!!
Welcome back Syl, you are truly missed when you're not here!
I'm so glad you are feeling better! That's a nice way to remember your dad.
Welcome back, Syl-ly. This place just ain't the same without ya.
Glad to have you back Syl!
Welcome back Syl. Sounds like you were able to regroup and determine what is important right now. Looking at you beside your tree, you look fit, slender and beautiful.
Twenty four people for dinner?? How fun is that?! You'll be the best hostess!
Good for you on letting others help you! Sometimes it is hard to let other's help becauswe it seems you reveal weakness that way, but it actually brings people together and lets you enjoy, rather than stress.
I missed you too and am happy that you didn't stay away too long.
I'm noticing how "early" you all put up the Christmas tree, I'm planning to set up mine on December 15th. This has to do with Sinterklaas on December 5th, here in Holland we usually put up the tree after that.
I love the thought behind the red bird, I think it's a wonderful tradition! I was thinking about my Dad this morning. Today's my mom and dad's wedding day so I have to call my mom later today.
I think you have set a perfect "goal" for yourself: be happy who you are and how you look and just keep on exercising, tracking like you used too!
Have a great day Syl. You have become one of my most precious blogging friends!
Hi, I'm new to your blog. You look terrific and maintaining what you've worked for will eventually become part of your lifestyle. I wouldn't be surprised if you did lose those last 10 pounds as the result of good habits.
Best of luck with your continued success.
Am pleased to see you back after taking time out for yourself.
You have the right idea...this is not the time to set out new goals, too much pressure with the holiday season coming up.
I have set out a small plan for myself as well, which allows me time to relax and eat a little more should I need to.
Love the idea of the bird for your dad's memory...you do know that he knows this...
So happy to see you back and blogging, Syl!
I love your frame of mind.
I also love the idea of a bird. My mom memorializes her sister and parents on her tree with butterflies.
I like the idea of the wings :)
Treat yourself well. You deserve it.
It's good to have you back and I love the new attitude that if you lose more weight that's great but it's not the end of the world if you don't. I love the tradition you have started with having something to remember your dad by.
P.S your boys are too cute!
