Lunch

Let's talk lunch shall we?

Lunch is never a meal that I liked, in fact the way my days go it's more of a pain in the butt. The average day doesn't have Syl having lunch. Usually I will have a piece of fruit and a fibre one bar ... I know what you are thinking!

I didn't realize how bad it was getting until I sat down on Tuesday to do my goals for the month. I looked at my meals for the past month and was not suprised that there wasn't much in the lunch column, but was SHOCKED to see how much I was eating at dinner and after dinner and after working out and before bed!

I knew something had to give. I had to balance my day out more. So another one of my goals is to start eating a normal lunch, take my supper time and make it a little later in the day.

So I thought yesterday was a good way to start incorporating lunch into my day and I even took pictures of the process for you!

I started out with flat bread and spread some Red Pepper dip on it, it's really low in calories and I only used half a serving, it's really yummy! Some times I just eat the wrap and spread with nothing else, but I'm trying hard to eat lunch remember....
then I added a tiny bit of shredded cheese.

Then came the ham, I used 3 thin slices of Black Forest ham

Then I added some sliced cucumber and some red bell peppers for crunch!

and what's a wrap without lettuce and a few hot peppers!

then I "wrapped" it all up (I'm such a comedian :-)) and added some strawberries, black grapes, cherry tomatoes and a few carrot slices.

and for being such a good girl and having lunch I treated myself to a cup of tea and 2 of these:end result: I felt weird all day! Eating that much for lunch was not easy for me, infact the above pictured items were started at 11:00 and I didn't finish eating till just after 1:00. I am sure practice will make perfect I just have to make a point of eating it.

In other news I haven't worked out this whole week. Monday we went to get our vaccines and it's been down hill from there. Monday we stood in line for 4 hrs to get them done. Tuesday my arm really hurt and I decided to use it as a day to do my goals till the end of the year. Yesterday afternoon I FELT LIKE I WAS HIT BY A BUS. Seriously I had no energy in me. I put the boys to bed and was in bed myself by 8:00. I feel congested and really tierd but I am sure it's just a reaction to the vaccine. Either way yesterday I didn't work out either.

Some times life just happens and you can't fit it all in. This week I haven't worked out but I have been very careful in the food department, making sure that I track every bite and not go over my calories. I am feeling that with the next 2 months coming up and alot of working out going on, I am just going to take the week off and let my body rest. I am thinking I won't last not working out until Monday but if I do it's ok!

I was going to insert a cliff hanger here......but I won't, I'll just tell you that tomorrow is my 300th post and it's going to be a special one....

Ooo, surprises, I love surprises!

You need to do something for me....look at your blog....scroll down and take a good look at the right sidebar where you photos are........what do you see?

I see a woman who has been set free.....who is comfortable in her own skin and really enjoying life!

FYI, I was good yesterday, I earned 3 APs (I did some yard work when I got home), stayed OP, tracked every morsel and even got in all of my water! GRIN!

My last comment made no sense so let me try to say it better this time. LOL!

I have the same issue. I have about 600-900 calories left for dinner almost everyday. Most days I eat them all too. This week I've been under a lot but that's not normally the case. When we are all home as a family at night I like to eat what they are eating, just in smaller portions. I know this should change but it works fo now.

Lunch looks yummy! I love lunch - it's a nice break at work and I'm always starving.

Good for your for being ok with a little break in your work-out schedule. Sometimes your body does need to rest!

Wow - that's a LOT of food for someone who's not used to eating lunch! What about spreading it out more? Like snackish? Have the wrap...maybe an hour or two later, have the fruit...and then have the tea/cookies if you need. More than likely you won't, and you'll still be spreading out the caloric intake so you're not bunching it all up at the end of the day.

Can't wait for the surprise!! :o)

I agree with Sunshine!!! You are a beautiful woman and you have come so far. :) Reading your blog makes me smile! Your accomplishments are amazing. Keep up the great work!

I love breakfast and lunch so much that I would rather eat a larger bfast, snack, medium lunch, snack and a light dinner usually! I agree with spreading things out throughout the day.

have you tried Spark People? Love it.

Oooh, excited for your surprise! I am actually trying to do the opposite with lunch. I am trying to not eat so much at once and space out my eating throughout my workday so I'm not SO STARVING when I get home. Usually I eat breakfast at 10am, a big lunch around 1, and then by 6 when I eat a piece of fruit before my workout, it's just not enough...
